We buy hotels we never plan to sell.
Ber & Co is a hospitality investment house backed by Catalysis Capital Management, a family office providing long-term, evergreen capital.
We acquire distinctive hotels across the Southwestern United States with untapped potential and hold them, by design, without a maturity date.
30 to 70 keys
A small portfolio, owned for the long term.
Ber & Co targets underperforming, undercapitalized and underdeveloped properties where strategic investment and hands-on asset management can drive meaningful growth. Our approach combines thoughtful repositioning, operational improvement and disciplined capital deployment.
Because our capital is permanent, we are not managing toward an exit. We invest in design, operations and the fabric of each property's community with a horizon measured in decades.
What we acquire.
| Room count | 30 to 70 keysThe scale at which boutique character and operational depth balance. |
|---|---|
| Independence | Independent hotelsA distinct identity or heritage, free of restrictive brand mandates. |
| Geography | The Southwestern United StatesHigh-barrier-to-entry markets where each property is irreplaceable. |
| Situation | Underdeveloped or underperforming assetsRoom to deploy capital, improve operations and unlock long-term value. |
| Counterparties | Owners, operators and brokersSeeking a long-term, permanent-capital buyer. |
Four commitments.
- i.
Permanent capital
Evergreen liquidity from Catalysis Capital Management removes the pressure of short-term exit cycles.
- ii.
Regional focus
Irreplaceable coastal locations where scarcity meets demand, and local expertise creates value.
- iii.
Operational depth
We work asset by asset: renovation, positioning and day-to-day operations, rather than oversight from a distance.
- iv.
Disciplined underwriting
Conservative underwriting so each acquisition carries significant intrinsic value from day one.
Leadership.
